Here’s why:
You have been wanting to start your very own jewelry business and like myself, you have somehow become fascinated by the allure of beads. Beads have intrinsic value some can be rare and ancient like the ones our ancestors used as a form of currency for trade while others captivate you with dazzling lights and beautiful colors. If you have passion, dedication as well as discipline, I am here to help you navigate the world of a bead artist.
No I am not going to give you tutorials and the reason is that there are tons of follow along with me books and videos that I can refer you to that’s the easy part! I am here to give you the secrets of the trade. My philosophy is Tools over Tutorials and here you will find out exactly what I use to craft my beautiful pieces as well as where you can go to learn exactly how to make similar ones. Beads are relatively easy to buy but knowing exactly what kind, size and color can make or break your business. After years of designing and selling to stores and at pop-up events, I have discovered what works, what sells and what people like and believe me they are not slowing down.
I have found that using the right materials have made a huge difference to my success. I can go to any event and set up with confidence, knowing that today will be great. In the beginning of my beading journey, my work looked a bit wonky and that was attributed to using inferior products. I am here to help you avoid pitfalls like getting your thread all knotted up and potentially having to start over thereby wasting precious time and effort.
You should definitely learn a few basic stitches like brick stitch and peyote but as mentioned before the tutorials which are already out there are so easy to follow that your time would be better spent on starting with the correct design tools.
In My Bestsellers section of this post, you will access a gallery of my most successful pieces with materials used as well as an explanation of why it sells over and over again! The good news is that beads have been indispensable for thousands of years and you can continue the tradition by starting now. I believe you can do it and with ease. Ready, Set, Bead! Good Luck!
